Got Questions?

Below you'll find answers to some frequently asked questions. If you don't find your answer here, drop us a line at hello@thecookiemomsterbakes.com or fill out the contact page and we'll get back to you soon.

Where are you located?  Do you offer shipping or delivery?

The Cookie Momster Bakes operates under Michigan’s Cottage Food Law and is located in SE Michigan. Cookies are made in a home kitchen that has not been inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development.  State law prohibits me from shipping cookies.  All cookie pick-ups are by appointment only in the Plymouth area, address will be provided upon receipt of order.  Occassionally I will offer local pick-up in the East Lansing area.

Do you offer allergy friendly options?

The Cookie Momster is a shared home kitchen, and while our recipe does not contain nuts there is a risk of cross-contamination.  Our standard cookie recipe contains wheat, egg, dairy, and almond extract.  We are tweaking our recipe to offer a gluten-free alternative, please subscribe to our email list to be the first to know when these options are available.

How are your cookies packaged?

All cookies are heat sealed to maintain quality and freshness.  Cookies will be packaged as stated in the product description.  Cookies that are packaged with paper shred will be heat sealed to prevent direct contact with the shred – shred is generally not considered food safe so please be wary of cookies that are not protected!

How long do your cookies stay fresh?

Cookies that are heat sealed will generally stay fresh for several days.  Cello bags are made from wood pulp, and over time this starts to breakdown and allow air molecules to enter the package.  If you are not able to consume your cookies within a few days, they can be frozen to preserve for a later date.  Just be sure to carefully place the cookies in airtight container/Ziploc bag before freezing – this step is critical as opening the container may cause condensation and ruin the cookies.  When you remove them, allow them to completely thaw before opening the container.

Do you take custom orders?

Please inquire about a custom order with as much notice as possible! I am a small family business and have limited availability for custom orders - especially around the holidays.  Please note, I am not able to accept orders with less than 3 weeks notice.

How much are your custom cookies?

Custom cookies start at $45/dozen with a minimum quantity of two dozen.  Cookies prices increase depending on the size (average cookie size is 3 to 4 inches), number of designs, icing colors, and level of detail.  Airbrushing, lettering, metallic embellishments, and texturing are all examples of price enhancing details.

Mini cookies start at $20/dozen (minis are typically 1.5 to 2 inches) and require a minimum of four dozen unless being added-on to a regular sized custom order.  Please request a custom quote for the most accurate pricing based on the specific quantity and design preferences you desire.

Please note we are unable to offer discounts on custom decorated sugar cookies.  Each cookie is hand cut, iced and decorated with love and it takes us just as long (if not longer!) to decorate 10 cookies as it does 100.
